Government will never stop trying to gain surveillance and control over everone, but we've learned a trick.

Decentralization. In every situation where government is able to gain control over a system like Telegram or Signal or Paypal or whatever, the solution is to open source the code and spread the responsibility out over the crowd so there's nobody to lean on or arrest.

Development is slow, there are mistakes and dead ends, but eventually everything that matters to the powerful will have to be decentralized because they can't stop themselves from destroying it. Even money. Especially money.
