I dunno. If I lived in an area endemic with malaria, I'd want to spray it indoors and take my chances with the poison. I have read that a single application indoors will keep mosquitoes away for up to 6 months.

Spray it on crops? No. But prevent malaria, yeah. It's easy to sit back in a country safe from malaria and be absolutist about this, but malaria kills a LOT of people and ruins lives. It keeps Africa poor.

Annual malaria death toll is 600k. If you had to live with that, light indoor application may not seem so bad.
