My history is just fine. Read the 10th amendment, which is part of the constitution, not the articles.

It is true that some states will pass laws they are not permitted to pass, but so does congress. Mostly congress. We leave it to the court to sort out who is right and who is wrong, but I note a long standing tradition of telling the court to go dunk its head whenever it pushes too hard, starting all the way back with Andrew Jackson. They are just one branch of three, after all.

The states are REAL, even if the bureaucrats and functionaries in Washington pretend they don’t matter. All they have to do is assert themselves. This sounds like rebellion but it is not — it’s putting things back to the way they should be. When the Republicans win congress this November, which they WILL, you will be grateful that your home state doesn’t just snap to attention and start carrying out the will of congressmen from Kentucky or Alabama.

Again, I say: Federalism = Peace. It isn’t perfect, it doesn’t fix injustice, but it does keep people from taking up arms against their own countrymen. Don’t work so damn hard to wreck it.
