One reason the world feels like it's going crazy is a steady drumbeat of doomer stories from the media and writers like Umair.

He doesn't even seem to care or notice that he's not right in his predictions. You may recall that he predicted mass death from Omicron back in January. We're totally unprepared and it's YOUR fault!

The hospitals are not jammed up with the dead and the dying. There are no mass graves. We got through it.

Now it's climate change. Al Gore predicted there would be no snow on Kilimanjaro by 2010. Guess what? Snow's still there.

I think people want to see calamity because they are bored, honestly. The only calamity we're going to suffer is a financial one.

And even that can be tolerated. Argentina has suffered dozens of them. But as they say, "The sun is still shining, the food's still good."

So relax. Or not. But one way or the other, we'll muddle through.
