That meandered around a lot. If you want an end to liberalism, do you have an existing ideology in mind, or just one of your own making?

I notice at the end of your article that you say ideology doesn't work. But ideology is the word we use for a system of ideas, beliefs and values that inform society's decisions. If we toss out liberalism, it is going to be replaced by another system, another ideology, even if it refuses to name itself an "ideology".

And the trouble is, we have names for these alternative ideologies. They've been tried over and over and they range from undesirable to horrific. The first thing most illiberal ideologies cast out is freedom, then they get down to business and impose their will with fire, and the sword.

The purpose of liberalism is peace. If you want liberalism gone, you are sacrificing freedom and with it peace and the security of the rule of law. With what, exactly, do you propose to replace it?
